Keerthi Chawla, who did films with actors like Ajith, was later reduced to an item girl in K’town.
The actress, who was recently seen in AVM’sMudhal Idam performing a special number with Vidarth, is back as a heroine.
The Mumbai-based girl has been signed to play the lead in a film titled Kasi Kuppam. She will play opposite a newcomer, Arun, who has also written the story, screenplay and dialogues, besides wielding the megaphone.
The movie is about a boy who belongs to the kuppam (slums) and narrates how he exposes a wealthy and influential man who exploits the slum dwellers.
Sowmya also stars in the movie. Keerthi says she has a solid role with plenty of scope to perform and hopes this will mark her second innings in Tamil. Balaji composes the tracks.
