Young and bubbly Bhavana  is not seen in Tamil cinema after Asal. Much was expected from the actress. However she has been keeping a low profile.


Says Bhavana, 'I am in fact waiting for a meaty role from Kollywood. I believe there is no point in doing stereo-type of characters and I am game for any role that throws a challenge at me.'


‘I am currently shooting for a Malayalam film titled Dr Love,’ she says.

I will not think about my marriage for the next two years," says Bhavana, the 'Aasal' and 'Jayam Kondaan' girl, adding that she would concentrate fully on her acting career in the coming months.

Actress Priyamani is excited and how. “The Celebrity Cricket League is a big deal. We get to see actors from four different industries on the same field. It is a complete treat. I’m sure it will be loads of fun,” she says. And the actress is doubly elated as she’s the brand ambassador for the entire tournament.

“Shriya (Saran) and I are the brand ambassadors for the entire event. This is because the two of us have acted in films in all four languages. While that’s a great feeling, I’m also forced to be politically correct and always root for the best team to win,” says Priya.

She’s twice as thrilled because the tournament begins on her birthday. “I’m a complete cricket buff. When Ashok Kheny announced that the first leg of matches begin in Bangalore on June 4, I couldn’t contain my excitement. I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday gift,” says Priya.

The Bangalorean actress’s currently got her hands full in Sandalwood. “Right now, I’m busy with two films in Sandalwood. One is Vishnuvardhanawith Sudeep. The other film is Lakshmi with Shivarajkumar,” says Priya, who also shares that she’s just signed another film that will take off in early July.

“I just heard the script of this film called KoKo, which is being directed by R Chandru. He approached me with the script earlier this week. I loved the storyline and I immediately gave my nod for the film. Nitya Menon entered the Telugu film industry through 'Ala Modalaindi directed by Nandini Reddy. Later, she played opposite Siddhartha in '180' which is yet to hit the screen.

The latest information is that she was reportedly selected as heroine opposite Naga Chaitanya for a film titled 'Autonagar Surya' under the direction of Deva Katta which is being produced by K Achireddy.

The script work for this film is in the final stages and the movie is expected to be in the backdrop of the rowdyism in Vijayawada. It is a surprise that Ram Gopal Varma had also selected Naga Chaitanya for a film with a similar backdrop (Rowdyism in Vijayawada) with the title 'Bejawada Rowdeelu'.

The movie has a handful of characters, thus making for a very simple and straightforward narrative. There is Mano (Siddharth) who we meet at the very beginning of the movie. He appears to be a sombre and serious person, when we meet him on the banks of the Ganges in the holy city of Kashi. But by the time he reaches Chennai, he appears as a happy-go-lucky guy who lives life to the fullest in his own little quirky ways. Through Mano, we meet Vidya (Nithya Menen), a photo journalist who captures the extraordinary in the ordinary through her camera. The meetings between Mano and Nithya are not of the usual boy-meets-girl type. The situations are new, but at the same time, totally plausible and believable. Then there are other characters; a group of paper boys who are friends of Mano and Mr. and Mrs. Murthy, in whose house Mano resides.
The film also has Ajay (Siddharth), a doctor in San Francisco, America. He accidentally meets Renuka aka Renu (Priya Anand) and like all filmi boy and girl meetings, this develops into love. We also have Sam, Ajay's close friend, Renu's parents and Ajay's widowed mother in the story.
The story develops over what happens when the worlds of Ajay and Mano intersect and how their past and present affect the lives of all those involved with them. What does 180 mean to the story? All this and more unfolds as you watch the movie.
Jayendra has spun a classy tale of love and Sharreth has woven absolutely blissful music into it. When the visuals and the music come together, there is a harmony that makes this romance all the more delightful. Two numbers that make quite an impact are ‘AJ’ and ‘Nee Korinaal’. The melodies, combined with the silken chemistry between Siddharth and Priya, plus the beautiful visuals, are a treat to be enjoyed and remembered! Balasubramaniem's camera work deserves special mention. All through the movie, everything looks fabulous and refreshing. From the banks of the Ganges to the by lanes of Chennai, and finally the skyline of San Francisco, everything looks picture-perfect and yet realistic. Even in the most sombre sequences, the elegance of the shots is remarkable.
As for the performances... Welcome back Siddharth! He carries the entire movie on his shoulders and at no point does he show the slightest strain. Priya looks gorgeous. Special applause to the stylist! Going beyond looks, we must add that in terms of acting and emoting, she is on target. Nithya Menen as the effervescent journo does her part well. In the few scenes in which they appear, Geetha and Mouli (as the elderly couple that owns Mano's rented apartment) prove their expertise as veteran actors!

Says the actress, "My friends have been asking me to take up direction. But I still have a long way to go and have enough time on my hands. As of now, I have only acting in my mind. Let me first get the acting hangover. After that, I will definitely take up direction as I have always wanted to work behind the camera ."
Though everything is smooth on the films front, Priyamani is yet again a hot subject among gossip mongers for her alleged romance with Telugu actor Sumanth. "Sumanth and I are good friends and my family knows him very well. There's no romance brewing," she clarifies and adds, "Love and marriage can wait for me as I am yet to find my Mr Right.
