Mamta Mohandas.hot

T-town is witnessing a new phenomenon. Some new generation actors are getting a lot of attention for their singing abilities in addition to their talent for acting. These T-town damsels are gaining popularity for their hitherto unknown talent.
While Shruti Haasan and Mamta Mohandas arrived in T-town as playback singers and then turned actors, Shraddha Das, Nithya Menen, Manjari Fadnis and Swati did it the other way round.
For pretty Mamta Mohandas, singing remains her “first love”. She is a trained classical singer and arrived in T-town with the chartbuster Rakhi in the film Rakhi.
“I still remember how the song managed to create ripples in the industry but I began to focus on acting and again the song, Olammi Thikkareginda in Yamadonga became another chartbuster. Although, I am fascinated with singing and acting, singing is close to my heart,” says Mamta Mohandas.
Whereas, Shruti Haasan’s maiden T-town number in the film Eenadu didn’t earn much praise, the singer-turned-actor likes to pursue both. “She wants to be involved in arts, singing, acting and composition as they are all part of creative activity, so she juggled with good roles and tunes,” says a source, close to her.
Unlike others, Gen X actor Nithya Menen lent her voice to the music in Ala Modalayindi and had arrived on the scene as an actor as well as a good singer.
